Revealed: The Marketing Strategy Behind Eminems BET Trump Diss Cypher


Did you know that Eminem used a well known, but rarely used marketing strategy when he dissed President Donald Trump?

Eminem recently did a cypher on the BET Hip Hop Awards and did something ingenious. He Dissed Donald Trump.

From the outside looking in, it just looks like Eminem took shots at the presidential billionaire, which is something we’re used to seeing from Em. He has dissed countless people. So what’s so special about this diss?

Lets break it down.

As you might already know, the world seems to be turning in a bad direction. Racism, Athletes rebelling against the U.S. flag for their rights, threats of nuclear war, terrorism and a lot of other crazy shit is going on.

Many people blame President Trump for the way things are turning out. The drama just keeps piling up every day. If you’re an Em fan, you know that when he disses someone, he gets personal. He likes to hit people where it hurts.

Why Did Eminem Diss Trump?

If you’ve been following the news on Hip Hop Blogs, It’s rumored that Eminems new album is set for release in November.

So he had to come up with a way to get people talking about him again. but this time he chose to use a marketing strategy that I like to call The “Bad Guys” Strategy.

Everyone has a common “enemy”. In politics, it’s republicans vs the democrats. In religion, it’s christian vs atheists. In Hip Hop, it’s old school vs new school. No matter what the topic, there’s always a “bad guy”.

Wether it’s you or someone else. There will always be a group of people who either agree or disagree with your way of thinking.

And that’s exactly what Eminem used to his advantage.

He knew that most celebrities were against Trump. He knows they hate him and all the drama he’s causing. Then there’s the people who love trump and think he’s doing a great job. There we have our two sides. The “good guys” and the “bad guys”.

In this case, Donald Trump and his supporters are the Bad guys. They are the common “enemy” of most people. And Eminem and all the celebrities and their supporters are the good guys.

How Did Eminem Benefit From It?

It’s simple. He did the cypher in complete agreement with the good guys. This instaly had every celebrity tweeting about him. and all of their supports creating Youtube videos about the cypher.

And since he was disagreeing with the bad guys, they ALSO started to tweet and talk about him and make videos. The story was even aired on CNN, MSNBC, and FOX.

What this did was made the good and the bad guys engage in an all-out world wide argument. And Eminem was right in the middle soaking up all the attention and exposure.

Mission accomplished. He instantly had the eyes of the world on him. The good guys and the bad guys. And all right before the release of his new album. 100% free promotion. Didn’t pay a dime.

The question is…how can YOU use the same strategy to promote your music?

How To Use The “Bad Guys” Strategy to Promote Your Music

Here are the steps you need to take to make this happen in 3 simple steps.

STEP 1: Find a Common Enemy.

The first thing you must do is find a common enemy. It’s important to know the likes and dislikes of your taget audience when looking for your common enemy. You are always going to be the good guy. So find something that your audience passionately dislikes.

Example: the Common enemy of me and my audience is music industry scammers.

STEP 2: Attack The Common Enemy

Now that you know who your common enemy is. It’s time to find a way to attack them. You can do this in many ways such as , blogs posts, songs, videos, tweets, Facebook posts and more. The bad guy strategy is one of the strategies I talk about in my free FB Content Cheat Sheet. STEP 3: Spread The Word

Once you’ve created your attack. It’s time to put it directly in front of the ones you know that are in agreement and disagreement with you. Find every Facebook group, page, every blog, and anywhere else you can think of that has the targets you’re looking for. remember. The goal is to start an argument between the good and the bad guys. The argument is what gets you the exposure.

And there you have it. One of the best marketing strategies to use to promote yourself and/or your music.

  •   I ran into Johnny Fame on fb not too long ago but not recently either lol and I have to let you guys know, the content on his page is super helpful. Most of what he post are easy steps you can do to get to a higher level whether your an artist or a producer. He's also very reachable and will actually engage with you , annndd he has so many other cool, helpful, and motivating ideas and articles to help you succeed if you feel your in that blank space unsure what to do. But he man Johnny Fame and his content is great, I promise you'll walk away with some knowledge and tools you didnt have before!
